Roof Procedures

All new roofs must be approved by the ACC before installation. The Board and ACC have researched roofing materials and have determined the following suggestions for materials that MAY be approved:

  • Tile
  • Slate
  • Asphalt (Asphalt shingles are not approved in The Boulders, filings 9 – 19.)
    • Shingles that are at least 400 pounds per square (10’ x 10’) and dimensional, saw-tooth type:
      • Certainteed, Presidential Shake TL
      • Owens Corning, Woodmoor
      • GAF, Grand Canyon
    • Impact resistant shingles 355 pounds per square, (10’ x 10”) and dimensional, saw tooth type:
      • Certainteed Presidential Shake IR
      • GAF Grand Sequoia AS
  • Metal
    • Decra Tile
    • Decra Shake
  • Other materials may be considered, with the homeowner providing the ACC and Board with addresses of two structures with the roof they are requesting. Both the ACC and the Board will consider the request and must be approved before installation.

NOT allowed: Malarkey,  Da Vinci Bellaforte,  Cedur,  Tamko,  GAF Timberline,  Decra Slate
